Audrey Cranston, CEO
Brendan Collins, CEO

Brendan has over thirty years experience of working in disability and human services and the Third Sector in Ireland. Brendan worked for over twenty years in Enable Ireland directly facilitating both children and adults in educational, social and vocational activities. During his final years with the organisation he led the Community Development Programme which actively supported adults in accessing community based activities. This programme was underpinned by the values of social inclusion, equality and the social model of disability.

In 1999 Brendan moved to the Open Training College where, as Course Director, he worked with first line staff and managers of disability and human services to successfully complete their studies in the areas of social care and management. In doing so, tangible and progressive change occurred within organisations, the lives of service users and staff members.

During his time with the Open Training College Brendan was involved in the design and delivery of training to staff in Romania which had been organised by HAO and FVB. In 2009 he was re-acquainted with both organisations when requested to complete an evaluation of training and the facilitation of senior team members. In July of 2010 Brendan took up the position of CEO of Health Action Overseas.

Brendan is strongly committed to supporting people who have been marginalised by and within society in living quality lives as equal and valued citizens and community members. Brendan continues to be actively involved in third level education working with adult learners in a number of different settings.
