| Since 1997, HAO has sent out two teachers from Ireland to run a summer training school in Anshun in the Guizhou Province. The training is in the area of special needs education. |
The in-service teacher training project provides training for teachers working with students with special educational needs in this province. On average one hundred teachers attend the training each year. They work in mainstream classes, schools for hearing impaired students, schools for visually impaired students and from special schools that cater for those with a general learning disability.
Anshun Teacher Training College continues to support these teachers in the difficult contexts in which they work. They continue to look to Ireland for support and a source of new strategies and ideas. |
