| In partnership with the Open Training College (St. Michael's House, Dublin) and Ratiu Foundation (Romania), HAO/FVB provided a comprehensive staff training programme on the social model of disability, person centred planning and management. |
| HAO was involved in the opening of a community services centre which will be a model for best practice in care for people with disability in Romania. The centre was officially opened in May 2006. |
| In April 2006 the first module of training by the Open Training College (OTC) was given to key staff trainers at the centre in Techirghiol. This training continued in May and June, and was supplemented with training delivered by Ratiu Foundation. |
