Health Action Overseas is a small but dynamic and well established international Non-Governmental Organisation which has as its focus the promotion of a rights-based and person-centred approach to providing services to people with disabilities. The organisation works highly effectively with partner organisations based in Romania and China.

We are currently seeking a General Manager to manage and develop HAO services in Romania including a Day Centre, Group Home, semi-independent living service and training projects. The successful candidate will be based in Bucharest, Romania. The minimum qualification is an appropriate third level qualification. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years work experience leading a team in the social or human service sector. (The disability sector is preferred but not essential). They will manage a team of 10 people. Support and mentoring will be provided by an experienced, professional Board. Salary is negotiable.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, have excellent networking, interpersonal and organisational development skills. Influencing and diplomatic skills will be necessary to work positively with local and national government agencies. They will be a strategically aware and financially astute leader to project and manage the organisations budget. They will have drive and imagination to manage and lead existing projects, develop new partnerships and identify innovative streams of funding.
